mazhakaalam.live (mazhakaalam means "rain" in Malayalam) is a free, community-driven platform that lets anyone in Kerala report and track rainfall in real time. No account needed. No sign-up. Just a pincode and a tap.

Every report appears instantly on a live map, colour-coded by intensity — from drizzle (green) to extreme (red). The result is a district-by-district picture of current rain across Kerala, built by the people who are actually experiencing it.

How It Works

  Select Rain Intensity Choose from five levels — Drizzle, Light, Moderate, Heavy, or Extreme. Each corresponds to a measurable mm/hr range.

  See It Live on the Map Your report appears as a coloured dot on the map. The colour and size reflect the intensity, and a heatmap overlay shows overall rainfall density.
